Transportation may be available for staff traveling from Manhattan, Bergen, Westchester, Orange, and Rockland counties depending on availability and program needs.
Group Counselors
Our enthusiastic and caring group counselors are at the heart of every camper’s experience. You’ll spend your days having fun, enjoying the sun, and creating meaningful connections with your campers and fellow staff. Alongside your co-counselors, you’ll guide your group through a summer full of activities, adventures, and memories that last a lifetime, all while gaining valuable experience and skills along the way.
Early Childhood Opportunities
The importance of fundamental development and nurturing care is extremely important to Gate Hill’s philosophy. We have a range of positions for caring individuals to support the growing minds and bodies of our youngest campers.
- Early Childhood Opportunities
At Gate Hill, we believe that nurturing care and foundational development are at the heart of every camper’s experience. We offer a variety of roles for caring and enthusiastic individuals to support the growth and curiosity of our youngest campers. - EC Head Counselors – Lead and collaborate with co-counselors in our Villager and Jr. Pathfinder divisions, guiding young campers through a summer full of fun and discovery.
- Jr. Sports Coordinators and Activity Leaders – Work as part of a small, energetic team of PE teachers to introduce our youngest campers to the basics of dozens of sports through creative and imaginative games and lessons.
- EC Arts Leaders – Inspire creativity with engaging art projects for Pre-K and Kindergarten campers, helping them create pieces that brighten their home bookshelves and bring a smile to their parents’ desks.
Aquatics Staff
Gate Hill’s Aquatics Staff is a dedicated team of trained swim instructors and Red Cross–certified lifeguards. Our team ensures that every camper grows in swim ability, water safety, and confidence while having fun across our four-pool complex, boating lake, and splash park.
Requirements:
- Lifeguard Training (LGT) is required. On-site certification may be available for qualified applicants.
- We are also seeking candidates with WSI certification.

Our leadership team also includes Program Area Directors, who oversee both the staff and the wide variety of activities offered across Gate Hill, ensuring a high-quality experience for every camper.
